Weekly Update

This week, Francisco, Patrick, and I were continuing our design specifications in collaboration with the guideway team and the wayside team, along with coming from a meeting with Mr. Swenson and Dr. Furman. The ideas we got from our meeting is pushing us to get into contact with SolarCity to inquire about their current designs and see if there are any opportunities to get sponsorship from them for this project. In the meantime, we are working diligently to get our assembly done this next week so that the guideway team can make suggestions to us, while we can continue to do FEA analysis on the structure design we have chosen. From this, we can evaluate and decide if some portions of the frame need to be strengthened. We will also be be incorporating small scale models of our design in the next couple of weeks, with assistance from Brandon Tartar of the Full-Scale Bogie team. Reflecting on this past week, I think the team is handling the increase of work rather well, and by the end of this week, we should be ready to run full force into the end of the semester.

Weekly Update

The first week of planning has come and passed, and it seems to be going well so far. Francisco, Patrick, and I seem to all be on the same page when it comes to this project and its planning. So far the only difficulties that we have been coming across is just misinformation from not having the correct syllabus for this semester, to some timing issues. Other than those hiccups, we are starting to get the ball rolling on what we want to do, how we are going to do it, and allocating time for all of this. Individually, I have just been making sure that everyone continually is on track and we have a clear idea of our goals. Things that I would reflect on as this project starts to mature is figuring out everyone’s schedules so that we can meet more often, as well as constantly pushing this project forward. -Jordan Schultz

Weekly Update

This week, Francisco, Patrick, and I are coming off a week of a presentation that we think has been the best it has ever been. Continuing, we will take Dr. Furman's recommendations for work that we still need to complete as well as working on tasks that we believe are necessary to this project that may have not shown up yet in our talks. We have our plan set up on slack, and we will continually work though the next could of weeks to make sure that we get something impressive built. 4/15-4/19

Weekly Update

Continuing off of what we completed last week, we are currently working on ways to improve our efficiency, especially since we have a presentation coming up soon. Some difficulties are just focusing on aligning our schedules, and for that we have created a itinerary to help keep everyone on track. We are also finalizing our design, in which we are looking for a curved canopy design for its reduction on materials and also how stylish it looks. We are also thinking about teaming up with Wayside power team to create a working demonstration for maker fair, and we are still discussing the matters currently, but will probably be a direction that we will head in the coming weeks. My reflection is that we can continue to work more as one body, and hopeful more scheduled events will be the trick. -Jordan Schultz
